How can we be Champions of Peace Blog Post

For the last four weeks of Term 3 we were learning about ‘How we can be Champions of Peace’.

Firstly we learnt about the different symbols of peace. Some of these are The dove and olive branch hand peace sign the c and d sign the feather.

These symbols represent peace because the victory sign ( the v for victory) was introduced by the allies.

With these symbols in mind I created a Peace Artwork. My Peace Artwork represents peace because it can stop fights peace.

I also researched some real life champions of peace and wrote a short biography. I wrote about Lebron James because I thought this person was a champion of peace because he helps little local shops who might go out of business like a pizza company could blazes pizza.

Lebron James champion of peace

We also created a peace prayer book. I have attached my peace prayer book here. Prayer Book

I enjoyed learning about peace because If there was no peace in the world everyone would be fighting all the time

I learnt that just showing a little bit of peace can go far

One way I plan on being a champion of peace is by help others with jobs and chores.

Reading create

Kia ora  This week for reading we had to make a protesting board so I did  a hunting one and fishing saying take what you need not what you want because if you take to much every time you go fishing or hunting there won’t be any for people in the future.

Question have you ever been protesting and do you ever want to protest.

reading predicting

Kia ora This week we have been learning about predictions and we read  a book called reckless its about lots of these sharks swimming into a harbour from the people filleting the fish and putting the remains in the ocean bring in sharks.

Science

Kia ora for the past few weeks for science we made a torch out off play dough clay and some more things you had to get two peaces of play dough and put clay in the middle and then get two metal sticks with a light on top and you put it in the two pieces of play dough and it should go off .

My hypothesis was any more than one light would not work. What I discovered was that as many lights as you tried the  first one would always work you just might have to adjust it.

Something I found fun was with the clay and the play dough you were allowed to make cool animals with it.

Out of all the experiments we chose to do the torch. I really liked doing it because you can be creative with the things you make with the clay and with the lights you can put as much as you want.

This is a picture of the clay .

Have you ever made a torch out of stuff you can found round your house?

Poetry

Hello for the past few weeks we have been making poems and learning about lots of different types.

Here is a limerick poem I made:

There was a boy who hurt his knee

he went to the hospital and got a big fee

the docter said don’t worry

you will leave in a hurry

that was the end for him and me.

This is a bio poem I made about Richie Mo’unga:

Richie Mo’unga

Rugby kicking off tee scoring All blacks crusader playing rugby and scoring

his  kids his wife and Sevu Reece

missing a kick and not wining a hard game

wonder if he will do good in japan

if he has a good legacy

the all blacks win the world cup
